ARDWAN ROUND [DROWER]
Ardwan Round is built on a single idea, drawn from the Mandaean scholar Ethel S. Drower: that every letterform descends from the circle. I took that philosophy literally and let the curve govern the whole face. Its terminals are rounded and its joins gentle, giving the Mandaic letter a warm, open voice while every structural relationship stays intact. Round suits the places where tone matters as much as text: friendly signage, packaging, anything that should feel welcoming rather than formal. The craft is to honour Drower's principle without softening the letters into sameness, so each one keeps its identity. I design it from within the tradition, turning a scholar's insight about the circle into a working, contemporary typeface.
